Red wine and dark chocolate proven to have no health benefits
Researchers have recently published nine-year follow-up data of 783 men and women aged 65 years and older living in two small towns in the Chianti wine-producing region of Tuscany showing that drinking red wine does not increase longevity or reduce the risk of heart disease or cancer. Resveratrol the antioxidant found in both red wine and dark chocolate was found to have anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties in animals, but this study indicates it has no effect in humans. Anyway the alcohol and the sugar will do you no good anyway!
