Why Yoghurt can help with osteoporosis
Yoghurt is a popular fermented milk product food item. This powerhouse food has valuable important nutrients that provide natural cures and remedies for many ailments. A recent Complementary medicine research study from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland carried out on 1,057 women and 763 men recently revealed that increased yoghurt consumption is associated with a higher hip bone density. Increased intake of yoghurt in women was associated with a 31% lower risk of osteopenia and a 39% lower risk of osteoporosis, while in men, 52% lower risk of osteoporosis was found.
The researchers could not prove cause and effect from these observational studies. However, we know that yoghurt (without sugar) is a good source of essential nutritional supplements such as:
